It is most often used on forehead lines, crow’s feet, and frown lines. You will not see a result straight away. It takes 2-3 days* to begin working, and approximately 2-3 weeks* to see the full effect. If after 3 weeks you are not 100% satisfied, get in touch with us and we can book you in for a top-up treatment free of charge.

Botox® and Azzalure® generally last 3-4 months. There will certainly be patients in which it lasts longer, in the 4–6-month range, or shorter, in the 2-month range. It is also common for first time users to notice that it may not last as long initially but may last longer after the second treatment.

Alluzience® is an advanced botulinum toxin-a new wrinkle-relaxing injection launched by Galderma, the world’s largest independent dermatology company). It starts to work sooner than other standard botulinum toxin brands and can last up to 6 months.

Individual lifestyle choices may affect the longevity of the treatment e.g. people who exercise a lot or are very expressive may find the effects fade faster.

We use Botox®, Azzalure® and a fairly new product called Alluzience®. Alluzience® has the potential to last up to 6 months so you can reduce the number of treatments you undergo per year, but it is not suitable for all areas.

Pain is very subjective and personal - how we feel pain varies a lot from person to person and from time to time, e.g. studies have shown that women rate pain significantly higher in menstrual and premenstrual phases than during the rest of their cycle.

A small pinch or sting that you would expect from inserting a small needle into any part of the body and you may feel a brief stinging sensation. The site of injection also influences the sensation of pain e.g. injections around the lips might feel more sensitive than those on the forehead.

Schedule your appointment at least 4 weeks prior to any special event or holiday to allow time for complete healing and optimal results.

Reschedule your appointment if you develop a rash, cold sore or blemish in the treatment area.

You should avoid taking blood thinning medications and anti-inflammatory medicines like ibuprofen for the 2 weeks leading up to your treatment. Also avoid aspirin, vitamin E, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, St. John's Wort, and Omega 3/Fish Oil supplements.

You may wish to consider taking arnica tablets, available from most pharmacies, for one week prior and one week post treatment can help reduce the risk of swelling and bruising.

Avoid alcoholic beverages at least 24 hours prior to treatment. Alcohol may thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising.

Discontinue Retin-A two (2) days before and two (2) days after treatment.

Avoid any strenuous activity or exercise for 24 hours after treatment.

Avoid aggravating the injection site by rubbing or massaging the area. After 6 hours, you may gently wash the injection site but not before then.

Avoid lying down for the first 4 hours post treatment.

It is best to avoid alcohol for 24 hours post treatment.

If possible, do not restart any blood thinning medication for several days after your treatment. If you are taking prescription blood thinning medication, please contact us to discuss your treatment options or book a free consultation to discuss this aspect of your treatment further.

Avoid heat, tanning, self-tan, and tanning beds for 72 hours post treatment.

Avoid any facials, laser treatments, or microdermabrasion for a minimum of 10 days following your procedure. If you are unsure about how long to wait before having a certain procedure, contact us or ask your practitioner during your appointment.

Using a good sunscreen will protect the longevity of your treatment.

Wearing sunglasses to reduce squinting will protect the longevity of your treatment.
