PRP for Hair Loss
Reclaim Your Confidence: The Power of PRP for Hair Regrowth
What is PRP for Hair Loss?
PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) therapy for hair loss involves using a biological product derived from the patient's own blood. This platelet-rich plasma is rich in growth factors like TGF-beta, PDGF-AB, bFGF, IGF, VEGF, and EGF, as well as bioactive proteins, nutrients, vitamins, hormones, and electrolytes that accelerate tissue repair and regeneration.

By isolating the plasma and removing cellular components such as red blood cells and leukocytes, which can hinder the repair process, PRP treatment promotes increased hair density and reduces hair loss to normal levels.
PRP injections can be effective in treating male pattern baldness, both in preventing hair loss and promoting new hair growth. PRP can also aid in the stimulation of hair growth after hair transplants.
Patients typically experience noticeable improvements within 90 days, with ongoing hair growth enhancement for up to 6 months in some cases. Results will vary from patient to patient.
PRP therapy can be complemented with other hair loss treatments, including topical or oral minoxidil, oral finasteride, hair transplants, and supplementation with Viviscal Professional.
This treatment has shown positive results in patients with alopecia, male and female pattern baldness, thinning hair and hormone related hair loss. It is suitable for both men and women.

Your Treatment
A small quantity of your blood is collected, usually from your arm and then put into a centrifuge, a machine that spins rapidly to separate fluids of different densities. This separates the platelet-rich-plasma from the red blood cells. The plasma is then injected in a grid pattern into the scalp. Treatment takes around one hour.
A course of treatment typically involves 3 sessions of PRP spaced one month apart over a 3-month period. Dependent on the severity of hair loss, it may require more than 3 initial sessions. We will be able to review this and advise during your consultation.
Ongoing maintenance treatment every six months is recommended.
We offer an add on to this treatment of a post-treatment red light LED light therapy session. Red light therapy has been scientifically proven to promote hair regrowth by increasing blood flow to the scalp and stimulating the metabolism in hair follicles. A number of studies have evidenced it improves both strand density and thickness.
You can have LED red light therapy as a one off add on session post treatment or you can book a course. Whichever option you choose, this treatment will enhance the results of your PRP treatments.
